These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern the use of the Brooks Plumbing & Heating website and the provision of our plumbing and heating services. By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms.

3. Quotes & Estimates

• Quotes provided (verbally, in writing, or via our online quote tool) are estimates based on the information available at the time and may be subject to change following an in-person survey or once work has begun and unforeseen issues are identified.
• Quotes are typically valid for 30 days from the date issued, unless otherwise stated.
• Any additional work outside the original quote will be discussed and agreed with you before proceeding, where reasonably possible.

4. Bookings & Appointments

• Appointments are scheduled based on availability and are subject to change in the event of emergencies, unforeseen delays, or circumstances beyond our control.
• We ask that you provide reasonable notice (at least 24 hours) if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
• Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a call-out charge.

5. Payment Terms

• Payment terms will be agreed at the time of booking or quote and confirmed on your invoice.
• Invoices are due on completion of work, unless otherwise agreed.
• We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue invoices in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, where applicable.
• Payment methods accepted: Bank transfer / card / cash .

6. Guarantees & Workmanship

• All work carried out is fully guaranteed in accordance with the terms communicated to you at the time of completion (typically 12 months on workmanship, subject to manufacturer warranties on parts and appliances).
• Guarantees do not cover damage caused by misuse, third-party interference, normal wear and tear, or pre-existing issues not disclosed at the time of quoting.
• We are Gas Safe registered and comply with all relevant industry regulations and safety standards.

7. Customer Responsibilities

• You agree to provide accurate information about the property and the issue to be addressed.
• You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the property for our engineers to carry out work.
• Any pre-existing faults, damage, or hazards should be disclosed prior to work commencing.

8. Liability

• We carry public liability insurance and will take all reasonable care when carrying out work at your property.
• We are not liable for pre-existing faults or damage not caused by our work, or for issues arising from work not carried out by us.
• Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

9. Cancellations

• You may cancel a booking with reasonable notice as set out in Section 4.
• If work has already begun, you may be liable for costs incurred up to the point of cancellation (labour and materials).

10. Complaints

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
